Tim Watson swears the best job he ever had was his first. Selling Sunday Morning Courier-Journal newspapers from a 12′ skiff on the Ohio River in his hometown of Louisville, KY.
The water never left him and after matriculating at the University of Kentucky (without distinction) he headed for Hilton Head Island for 3 months. Those three months have turned into 22 years at last count.
Since 1992 Tim Watson has built custom homes throughout the South, and from 1999 through 2006 Watson was the head of the Southern Living Magazine Idea House program. Watson coordinated construction of 21 Southern Living Idea Houses in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana, and multiple other magazine specialty show homes.
From 2007 through 2010 Watson was Senior Vice President of Haven Custom Homes. Orchestrating a team of regional Sales Managers and developing Haven Homes’ Architect Program. Building on Islands with no bridges was a specialty.
In addition to the consulting and construction business Watson has focused mainly on teaching his two sons to throw a cast net, clean fish, and say “Yes m’am”.
Hilton Head Island, SC is home, the world is his jobsite.
